New Wave Press, Glasgow, January 2021 – Present
New Wave Press is a new, alternative space for production amidst the current global pandemic. My role in the organisation involves developing the website, contacting artists and writers, staying abreast of ongoing projects to promote, editing written work in preparation of publication, formatting and uploading work, assisting artists with curation and writing funding applications.

Media and Marketing Apprentice
As part of Tinderbox Collective’s core team I was in charge of updating and developing Tinderbox’s website, creating and curating media content, developing digital projects to present ongoing work, contacting press and media outlets, and applying to awards and exhibitions on behalf of Tinderbox Collective.
Carr Gomm, Edinburgh, April 2020 – September 2020
I worked closely with a house of 8 residents to support them with a wide range of tasks including mobility, medication, meals, emotions, personal care, budgets and well-being. I was also responsible for reviewing their support plans and suggesting improvements, coordinating with family members and voluntary organisations in order to advocate for them, and completing electronic records, file notes, risk assessments and incident reports.

Community Workshop Apprentice
The Tinderbox Lab Community Workshops project is an Edinburgh-wide programme of outreach workshops for children & young people (aged between 10 – 25), where my role included developing the technology used to teach the workshops, supporting the participants alongside the lead tutors, dealing with background tech issues, and supervising safety and well-being.

Box Office Team Member
As part of the box office team my jobs included selling tickets, dealing with customer queries and complaints, being informed about the program, working on the phone lines and taking charge of ticketing at external venues such as Leith Theatre and The Studio. Through these roles I gained experience in the running of arts festivals, and engaging with customers about the programme.

‘Room To Play’ Project Member
I was selected as one of 8 artists chosen to work with Yann Seznec (British Composer for Sonic Art, 2015) and Tinderbox Collective in developing a series of sound based installations and performances. The group worked both collaboratively and individually, using skills in electronics and technology to create innovative sound pieces for exhibitions.

Painting Parade Core Team
Working alongside Head of Painting and Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art, Karen Roulstone, and London based artists Sarah-Kate and Rose for this event, I was responsible for liaising with the GSA marketing team on press releases, organising an artists symposium, co-ordinating the exhibition of painting after the event, and running community workshops at Garnethill Multicultural Centre.
Frutta Gallery, Glasgow, January 2019 – March 2019
As a gallery intern I assisted with the practicalities of running the gallery space, organising exhibitions, and administrative tasks. This included filing invoices, compiling press release contact details, maintaining the website, updating artist CVs, keeping the space presentable and invigilating exhibitions.
Glasgow Film Theatre, Glasgow, October 2018 – April 2019
A voluntary role in which I monitored the film screenings and made sure they ran smoothly, greeted customers, tidied screens, assisted with evacuations, helped with events and represented the GFT to the public. Through this role I learned a lot about the successful running of events and customer engagement.

I assisted in promoting Master’s courses by making videos and leaflets, where I learned skills in Final Cut Pro, Adobe InDesign and Illustrator as well as social media. I also assisted in helping to design and run workshops for health based research, which improved my skills in teamwork, communication and digital work.

Arts Festival Volunteer
A month’s volunteering where I helped to set up exhibition spaces; invigilated the art exhibitions; engaged with customers; sold tickets and provided information in the box office. I also learned and demonstrated skills in running events, organisational skills in set up engaging with the public, as well as promotion both on social media and in public.

Retail Sales Assistant
I worked in customer facing roles such as working on the tills and in the fitting rooms, and I also was tasked with keeping the store tidy and organising and distributing new stock. I really improved my skills in customer service and gained a lot more confidence and social skills, becoming more friendly and approachable and learning how to engage with the public.
