Tinderbox Collective’s Room to Play Showcase at Custom House, Edinburgh as part of ‘Doors Open Day’. 27th April 2019
Intimate Barriers by Eve King and Rhona Sword
Intimate Barriers is a collaborative piece that uses interactive technology to explore personal interactions. For each participant, the same visuals and sounds are brought together in new combinations, demonstrating the variety found in human experience.
Instructions: Move your hands slowly over the fishbowls to create an individual visual soundscape.
Tinderbox Collective’s Room to Play Project:
Over the last couple of months, an eclectic group of musicians, game-developers, visual and other artists have been exploring electronics and how to bring some new digital ideas into their work. From musical stuffed toys to virtual instruments and distorted video, the group has been developing a series of unusual, playful and interactive installations, and we invite you to come and explore them all at Custom House on 27th April!
The exhibition is part of “Doors Open” Day at Custom House so there’ll be loads to see in the building, and some musicians from the Tinderbox Orchestra are planning to join Room to Play at 3pm for a few tunes and some orchestral experiments with the installations too!
Room to Play was a 10 week course aiming to bring emerging artists together from different disciplines to explore new technologies and interactive ideas. More info at https://tinderboxcollective.org/room-to-play-2019/.
